Dear Readers,
My first Night Owl Topic for this week would be “What makes a successful person?”
I used to think that a successful person is one who has either obtained a great education and lots of academic awards or accumulated lots of money. He may be someone who holds a very high position in the corporate world as well. Whether a person is successful or not, it really depends on what factors we are judging him on.
So how do you define success?
According to Dictionary.com, success is defined as:
1) the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors
2) the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.
After going for so many associations with success-oriented people, reading success books and listening to successful people, I have to come to realize that the true form of success can be summarised as follows:
“Success is not determined by how much money or education you have, it is determined by how many people’s lives are better off because you lived”
Indeed, I believed that God has put us on this Earth to do something good for other people instead of fighting against each other.
Of course, this is what I feel that makes a successful person.
